The seventies in Lleida were characterised by a great deal of activity and participation in all fields of the promotion and protection of architectural heritage. This interest generated a great deal of historical research, investigation and dissemination, which understandably produced a comprehensive body of documentation about the most prominent buildings covered by our Branch. At the same time, the OIU (Urban Planning Information Office) was set up for information about all the changes taking place in various town planning departments and, as a result, in their urban planning evolution. Later on, the Archives of Alexandre Ferrant were purchased; this is a major collection of almost 25,000 photographs which record the restoration of the most important buildings all over Spain. In recent years, the Archives have expanded their holdings with the donation of the professional archives of three architects: Bordalba, Domènech and Morera. | |||
